PipeCraft™ Flow Modeling

Steady State Model
- Simulates single-phase and two-phase flow in networks of oil and
gas pipelines.
- Ability to dynamically reverse the flow direction of a stream.
- Ability to blend fluid viscosity in all pipes and whole branches
for liquid phase.
- Provides a customizable output report.
Transient Model
- Performs transient simulations of flow in single-line pipelines.
- Allows pipelines to have any number of segments, pumps, compressors,
heaters, coolers, and valves.
- Performs simulation of two-phase flow (homogeneous model).
- Contains a one-dimensional transient heat transfer model.
- Contains a branches and loops model, as well as a leaks model.
- Handles heat transfer (overall heat transfer coefficient).
- Presents transient flow results in graphical context.
- Defines transient scenario.
- Presents simulation results in real-time and in tabular form.
Methods to Determine Fluid Properties:
- Compositional/EOS (equations of state) method based on fluid composition.
Determines fluid properties using three EOS models:
- Peng-Robinson (PR),
- Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK), and
- BWRS.
- Bulk fluid method based on fluid properties entered by the user.
Links to PipeCraft Pipeline Software
- Provides PipeCraft risk model with hydraulic data for selected portions
of a pipeline system.
- Automatically generate flow topologies using the PipeCraft risk model.
- Update production well data from the PipeCraft asset database.
- The project tools assist with the allocation of personnel and resources,
record keeping of project costs and events, and to provide proof of
integrity maintenance activities.
- The interface with Microsoft Project 2000 provides Gantt charts,
enable resource leveling, and define multiple baselines.
